LENTEN RETREAT AT HOME
(An in-person initiative of parishes in the Greater Sligo area)

Can you imagine adapting one week of your life to accommodate some personal time with God, and to considering how God is communicating with you at this time in your life?
During Lent – from Sunday 8th to Saturday 14th March, a number of adults in the greater Sligo area will take up this opportunity, using a tried and tested method that draws on the expertise of women and men who are trained and experienced in the art of Spiritual Direction. Please be assured that participants need have no previous experience of this kind of retreat.
Participants are invited to commit to three daily tasks as part of this retreat experience :
- Meet with your Spiritual Director for fifteen to thirty minutes each day at a mutually agreed time in a centre located near Sligo. There will be great flexibility regarding the times of these daily meetings.
- Create some time for quiet personal prayer / reflection on your own each day
- Undertake a review of each day, supported by a simple resource and technique that will be introduced at an induction meeting.
Confidentiality
To support confidentiality Spiritual Directors will come from outside the Sligo area and all will apply a seal of confidentiality to all conversations.
Cost
Cost is to be negotiated with the parish priest of each participating parish.
