Short weekly online reflections – “Stay With Us Lord; for it is almost Evening”
The six Western Dioceses (the Tuam Province) have planned a new initiative as part of the ongoing response to the pastoral challenge presented by COVID-19. One of the important Gospel stories of these Easter days is the account of how the two disciples met the Risen Jesus on the road to Emmaus and how they asked him: “Stay With Us Lord; it is almost Evening”.
With this in mind, we are inviting you to join us for a short (20 min) reflection, each Sunday evening at 6.30pm between now and Pentecost. Each reflection will be given by a different guest presenter and will be broadcast on webcam from a different location in the West.
Sunday 31st May will be led by Fr John Kenny from the Archdiocese of Tuam. Watch online at 6.30pm Click HERE to view
During the Easter Season we pray the Regina Caeli in place of the Angelus. Perhaps you might like to join in praying this prayer each day.
Call: Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia. Response: The Son you merited to bear, alleluia,
Call: Has risen as he said, alleluia. Response: Pray to God for us, alleluia.
Call: Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia. Response: For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.
Let us pray.
God of life, you have given joy to the world by the resurrection of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Through the prayers of his mother, the Virgin Mary, bring us to the happiness of eternal life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
There will be a daily broadcast of Mass on RTE NEWS NOW (SKY 521, SAORVIEW 21, VM 200 and EIR 500) each day at 10.30am. It will also be available on RTE PLAYER. The Mass will be broadcast from St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny.
This is to give people the opportunity to pray the Mass during the continuing efforts to stem the spread of COVID-19
